My friend and I used to work in a fliht school together, and when he got promoted to maint. manager, he got a new office. This office is located in an upper hangar at the Beaver County Airport. This hanagar is where 909 was restored after it overshot the runway and crashed in the late 1980's. Well a while back he was organizing an area, and found this part. It has 4 switched all are labeled ignition. The panel says bendix 10-51100 type EW-L. Do you guys think this is a B-17 part?

I'm not as familiar with the B-17 cockpit, but on Ol'927, the mag switches are all together, similar to what's pictured (different style though), and is located on the ceiling, between the two pilots. So it may be from a B-24.

Interesting. We did have the B-24 here as well years ago, when it was still All American

Sorry, but nope. Definitely not B-29. As a Flight Engineer on the -29, I can tell you that it has two seperate mag switches, one on top of the other.

Look right in center of this picture and you'll see them on the far left of the instrument panel.....

That is odd, because we never had any DC-6's around. Is it possible that 909 had this type of switch in it? Can we rule out that this is a B-17 part?

It doesn't look like any B17 mag switch I've seen--they are in pairs in a round housing on any I've seen in person or pictures.

The part is definitely not from a B-17. B-17's used (2) B-5 mag switches stacked on top of each other and gang-barred together. Definitely not B-29 as it used (2) B-5 mag switches also. They were located in the engineers panel facing the back of the aircraft. They would be marked 4 and 3 & 2 and 1 as the engineer would be reading from his left to right.

I found one on ebay that is described as a B-29/KC-97. My friend said that he would sell it, if any of you guys think it may be of use to your restorations or collections. He says he has no idea of the value, that just be honest with him, and he can work out a deal.
