For the first time since 1981, the B-25 Maid in the Shade has air under her wings. Pilot Tim Jackson and co-pilot Russ Gilmore roared down 4R at Falcon Field and at 9:25 lifted her in the air. Kudos to all the guys at the Az Wing of the CAF.

The first & last time I saw this B-25 ( approx 18 years ago ) They had just started the restoration.

It was basically a 2 pieces affair.

One of the piece was the gutted fuselage with the center section still attached........And the other piece was a huge pile of removed plubming & electrical wiring.

Congradulations to all involved :D

Y'all just be careful out there and be sure to take care of those inevitable squawks that pop up.

And congratulations on the first flight.

Did #2 stop smoking after she burned off all the seeped oil? Some of the pics showed her smoking pretty well then went back to a more "normal" operation. She hadn't been up for how long? 28 years !?! Go Baby GO!!
