HHHmmmm......Uvalde. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a certain well known Texan Billionaire with a very large warbird collection, keep a few of his planes there? I wonder if there is a connection? The well known collector has a penchant for Grumman products, with some 8 or so already in his collection.
Can anyone confirm who I think it is?

Yes. And from what I hear from other guys in the squadron has a pretty good reputation. I do know he was very decent to me when I took a couple of friends out there to see his P-51 one time.

There were three FM-2s on Courtesy a month or so ago. I believe all three of them were in pieces & in need of restoration. Can't remember who was selling them though.

The airplane with a WWII history will be restored first, then the second one will go along with the first and be done shortly after.
The third airplane will be highly modified for racing and have a R-2800 installed.

What does looking like a Bearcat have to do with looking like a Wildcat?
I hope they at least change the wings. That big, thick wing on the Wildcat can't be very conducive to fast speeds, even clipped.
