Is anyone here going to the Texas Air Museum's airshow in Staton, TX tomorrow (Saturday, June 6)? I have to talk to the guys about the Voodoo I got from them, and we thought spending the day for the airshow would be a nice break as well.
So anyway, if any WIXers are around, I'll be the short, fat guy walking around, probably wearing my ol' boonie hat and probably my Anderson Aeromotive t-shirt.

Gary,
I think Billy Parker will be there with Tora in his Zero and I think Ron Iberg will be bringing Kate 310. They were going to invite the P-39 and B-25 Yellow Rose, but they decided they wouldn't due to the wings "branded" on them. The comment was they couldn't see paying a good amount of money to have someone's billboard sitting on their ramp. I hope they aren't too disappointed when they see the "billboards" on the side of the Tora birds.

Okay Mike. I'll keep an eye out for them.
And just for the record.......I was the loudest voice at HQ against those d*mn decals (or "tramp stamps," as I call them).

But that doesn't matter anymore.

You know the POF has a nice decal under the stabs and Brian Reynold's OFM birds due has well. They ID their airplane without being distracting.
The CAF decals are just to overpowering.

I'm not feeling up to complaining about the CAF for anything, not really. Not when you get right down to it. I love the CAF, heart and soul. Having said that, I agree 100% with Jack. Hah!

I feel light as air now!

But Jack--MARKETING, MARKETING, MARKETING!!!!!!!!
I'm on record as hating the stickers, but I'm just one of the unwashed masses.

Here we go again with the decals

I know that we don't all approve but they aint our airplanes. I have to admit I have seen a lot worse and I actually think they came up with a pretty good design that at least is tastefull and is appropriate.
If this were a profit based company I would have more to say but the CAF aint trying to make a profit with them- simply raise enough funds and awareness from teh remianing 99% of the public not onWIX from whom they need suppot to survive. Interesting that I haven't seen anything about a certain red animal prominently displayed on a European companies aircraft - a company that is using the simble as an advertising tool to make a profit.
I am just glad that they are flying - with or without the decals

Ah, but that's the rub. As dues paying CAF Colonels, they ARE our airplanes to care for and display to future generations. I, for one, prefer a more accurate paint scheme devoid of advertising. Under the horizontal stab was just fine by me.
