Steve, Ok, then what type of plane is the prop from?

Hey Chris, I'll give ya a hint. Medium bomber, 2 engines...known to some as the "Flying Prostitute" because it flew with no visual means of support!

You mean R-2800, the B-25 (among others) had the -2600. How big would you say that prop assy was??

Chris, did you ever measure the diameter of the prop?

Looks like a Curtiss prop to me, so I would say Marauder or Thunderbolt.

What a ludicrous thread...a sensational heading of a Spitfire prop on
Morotai..endless speculation as to an artifacts origins and ID. Spend all
that money and time to go there..and this is all that is offered as bounty!!
The time could have been better spent on teaching the "2 Lieutenants" on
instruction of the use of a tape measure and relaying that info by phone or
computer. Or are they being "saved" for the really big stuff..a piece of
gnarley corroded cowling..rusted tubing ID...or encouraging the "money-
spender" to come back because they "think" you'll be interested in what
they have found? Thhwwppptttt!!! Some aces are represented by their
"kills", and some by the amount of times they "post words of nothing"..
Sorry!!! Seinfeld was already there!!! :finga:
