This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

It shows shows how ignorant their officials are, and that's why we had the Boston Tea Party on this side of the pond.
Sorry about singing the nat'l anthem folks!

I thinks that the Sally B group needs to crash every WW2 ending party with a booth, signs or what ever to bring attention to the stupidity of this.
Lack of money is not the problem here!
What about Pink Lady? I assume they are in the same boat?

Yes John,
The A-holes (Sorry Scott but I fooled your anti swear program)are making her miss the 50th anniversary ceremonies of VE Day.
The extra fees amounts to around $2000.00 extra per flight hour.

Looks like no matter which side of the Atlantic you live on, Governmental and regulatory buracracies figue out SOME way of interjecting their greedy little fingers. Hope this works out for the best for the folks that operate her.

TimApNy asked.."What about Pink Lady?"....
As I understand the issue, the insurance rates are related to guidelines
being established for the European Union. The individual countries Civil
Authorities interpret those guidelines and are applying them in their
respective borders. The British Civil Aviation Authority have chosen to
have a more drastic or conservative interpretation...in France where
Pink Lady resides they have a more liberal(but of course, mon ami!)
application of the guidelines. If I've got this wrong, our pommie friends
are welcome to comment!
Was reading earlier today, that the PBY Catalinas barely squeak by and
stay in the lower insurance rates in Britain!

I'm sorry, but sometimes I just hate this world. Such morons that we live with. I'm sure if this were something 'newsworthy' like who's doing what on american idol or an update on the michael jackson trial, this wouldn't be happening. Seriously world, let's get our priorities straightened out...........argh!!!
