About 11:50 AM Sunday, I saw a bright red Yak 18 eastbound over Lake Lewisville. My ears always perk up at the sound of a radial engine!

Cheers,

Flying Day @ FHC -
The HURRICANE flew with UPUPPA, I'd forgotten just how much difference in sound you notice with the same engine type in different airframes, the P-51 much deeper and more robust than the almost high strung note coming from the HURRICANE, and I've noticed that John Sessions' razorback has an even deeper note than the D model MUSTANGS

Yesterday while waiting to leaving Dryden, Canada, we got to watch an RCAF C-130 praticing para-rescue operations. They dropped two parachutists from around 3000' AGL. Then they dropped a couple of streamers from a lower level, say 1,000'. They came back in and dropped backpack sized bundles each time getting closer to the target. Counting the pararescuemen' steps they were getting within ten to fifteen feet on the final drops.
As we were leaving, Hueys were practicing water drops on the airport property with aggressive manuevering after making the drops. those guys are good!

Buzzed by a US Army C-23 Sherpa while out on a friend's boat in Charleston (SC) Harbor.

After watching said Sherpa drop a group of Golden Knights onto the flightdeck of the former USS Yorktown. From a height of several thousand feet. :D

Rick, I heard what sounded to be "just another F-16" Friday afternoon and didn't come out of the shade
for a visual...wish I would've, now!

Saw/heard the F-4 scooting off about 10:15am today...privately owned J-79's in the morning, now THAT'S the sound of freedom! :D

A short time ago over Port huron there was what looked like a WW2 fighter flying north over Lake Huron. Sounded sweet looked like a T28 or bearcat big radial engine..
