Aero-News (aeronews.net) is reporting today that Lex Cralley has won his battle to keep his Corsair. It seems that some members of Congress have taken notice to the Navy's out of control attempts to reclaim airplanes. Way To Go Lex!

Man, the Navy is insane. If they devoted that much effort to defending our sea ways, we wouldn't even need the Coast Guard.

Seriously, that energy would be better sent trying to fight the Abu Sayaf near the Philippines. To think my taxes are funding the NHS, and some self righteous, bureaucratic Navy Civil Servants.

Maybe they need to sent their Spooks over seas and do something worthwhile, like save American lives. Not harass people trying to save the “junk” they say they care so much about.

NOW we have legal precedent... which gives guys like Taras and others the legal ground to stand on in order to successfully argue their cases and WIN in court of law.

(I'm counting the minutes until another Tom DeLay outburst about "activist judges" in regards to this... LOL)

Right on Lex, and THANK YOU to those members of Congress who stood with Lex in this.

I think there was some fine print that came along with the ruling, I'm sure that Rob or Taras can fill us in more on that. Or even Lex, I think he shows up every o often.

Tom Delay is actually a supporter of the aircraft transfer efforts. There are others who feel that the citizenry shouldn't have access to these "weapons". Tom helped to kill the demil bills that were being pushed by the Chairmen of certain committees when the other side was the majority party.

Being ex-Coast Guard I'll TRY not to take offense at the above made Coast Guard comments....nothing like a nice THANK YOU from those you have served...ahem....

Sorry Mark... I'm sorry to any "Coasties" that I may have offended. It was just ment as a jab jab, ha ha, wink wink. Like... GO ARMY, BEAT NAVY! My whole family has served in the military and I have seen my brother yelled at in the middle of an airport, by some anti-military bozo. It took everything in my to not punch the guy in the face! I also have friends who are "Coasties". All this to say, I really thank anyone and everyone who has ever served this country, abroad or in defense of our beautiful coast. I didn't mean to offend anyone. Lets continue to support everyone still serving!

I should've said that! Couldn't have said better than Caddie. I wasn't trying to make a jab the Coast Guard. Trying to show how stupid the Navy is acting.

Apology accepted, by me and my mates on the former Coast Guard cutter USCGC Evergreen (now lying in 3 miles of water off of the North Carolina coast....darn squids and their target practice....)

Just kidding....gotta love the squids...after all, their ships are bigger than ours...

A pilot about 10 years ago dropped a few Mk-82s on a destroyer out side of the "target' zone. Luck for the ship they were contact fused.

I was told a story about a A-7 pilot dropping practice bombs on some shacks in the AZ desert, turned out to be a bunch of Mexicans running north.

I've heard reports of people that may have disappeared on sailing trips.

On a side note, a funny one, The Japanese Navy on Rim-Pac in 1996 shot down one of CV-62s A-6E. It was towing a banner for the Sea-Wiz. I guess the A-6 made a better target. Both crew safely ejected.

That is off the top of my head, I’m sure there has to be more.

The Japanese fishing ship that was sunk off HI, not a weapons misstake but the ship and some crew went down with it.




Speaking of the Navy sinking things, When does the USS America get deep-Sixed?
