Just wondering if there were any airworthy Intruders left (there were a few a few years ago, of course, but now...). Also does anyone have pics of Kermit Weeks' Hughes A-20?

There's gotta be a few. Two of them went right over the top of me at about 500' while I was walking to work a few months ago. They were playing over at Moffett. Very cool airplane. My favorite jet! I'm going to look for my very few A-6 pictures. Better yet, Maybe Jack can post some for us. He's got some cool action shots. How about it Jack?

Maybe those were E-6 Prowlers...

The A-6 was retired from the fleet in 1996. But that does not mean there were a few that hung around some of the "specail test" squadrons. I'd be very surprised if any are still around. EA-6Bs are still around and will be for a while.
But the new FA-18G is suppose to be coming around soon.

upon retirement of the intruder the navy stripped a bunch of em, removed any hazmat stuff, oil, hydraulic fluids etc, stuck em on a barge & dumped them in the drink some where off florida to make an artificial reef for fish. fishing is my favorite sport, but i could have seen those historical war horses put to better use preserved in static form if not flying under uncle sams jurisdiction in some manner for historical purposes, but that would be unfeasible due to $$$$$ to fly a type like that by the government in these times. regards, tom

Tom, if the DoD won't do it then they should let the civilians with the drive and wherewithall do it instead of actively using our dollars to fight against us.

Or we could have gone about the country depositing A-6's in exchange for
warbirds of the past. Remove a B-29 from Lake Meade..deposit A-6, etc.
Then 50 years from now we could start retrieving A-6's and.......
