Does anyone know if the Navy still has any P&W F-14s left? If they do I think I can get one if they do I can get one for the NEAM. Please let me know. Thanks Chuck. Once again NO GE

I think there are very few left, most VF squadrons are turning into VFA and flying the new E/F lawn-dart.

Rob I now recall Larry saying that about the F-14.

The F-14A's where the only model with P/W engines? or is it the "d" that only had GEs?

A: Found out the B & D both had GE engines.

Hey Col, did you hear what exactly the “demil” process entails?? George was telling me about it, quite ridiculous and funny at the same time!!!

Well they first have to remove the seats and de-arm them before they can go back in then they strip the Instr. and replace with Red Tag stuff, then they weld the tail hook in place remove the engines if they are need still in the fleet and replaced with shells. Next they replace the canopy with a non-armed one remove the radar unit and gun.

If I remember correctly (and I have been in the sun all day 8) ), the cockpit is being pretty much stripped, panels - seats and all, and then they are going to paint the canopy. Supposedly a certain *other* museum acquired an F-14 from our beloved Navy, and sometime later when the Navy dropped in to check on their F-14, they found a few items missing! Such as the instrument panel (and of course all the gauges), and some other stuff. It seems that the museum sold these items to raise some funds, and you can imagine how the Navy felt! Of course, that's just what I hear
