I believe it was Larry Burton who made the first 3350 conversion for the Sea Fury, but the engine mount was crooked. Nelson "fixed" one of the old Burton mounts to begin with, which is what got him started making new mounts of his own. The rest of the conversion kit followed, with induction trunks, cowling mounts, exhaust kit (made by Sam......crap...forgot his last name  ), etc..

Thanks for the info, Gary. What year was it that Larry Burton put that first 3350 on the Sea Fury and what year was it that Nelson fixed that crooked mount?

Also, thanks Brandon for the info. Interesting piece of info about the later 4360 series and accessory sections, oil tank.

Sorry warbird1, I don't know the dates for when all of that initially took place. I've helped work on several of those "kits" from Nelson, but I just don't know the date of the first one he did.

No problem Gary. I was more curious as to the year than anything else. I'm trying to remember if all of that happened in the 80's or 90's. Do you know approximately what years it might have been?

Anyone else know?

My guess would be mid '80s.

Probably the 1985 or 86 time frame.

1987 was the year it showed up at Reno.

Thanks for that info, M.L. So in 1987, who brought the first 3350 powered Sea Fury to Reno?

Eric Lorentzen brought his modified Sea Fury Blind Man's Bluff.

Larry Burton built the racer up.
