Just a note from the peanut gallery - Al, thanks so much for your consistently outstanding coverage of Oshkosh now and in the past via those beautiful photographs! :f4u:

Here's a few more - hard to find an angle that Al hasn't already posted though. Saving me some uploading time :D

Did anybody get the formation pass of T-28's as they went under the "T-28" skywriting? I took the shot too early and my camera didn't cycle in time to hit it right.

Steve, you lucky utter b**stard... what a complete coincidence, I happen to have a wartime photo of John C. Meyer leading two other Mustangs on a fighter sweep over the continent that looks JUST LIKE the one you took!

Lynn, wishin' someone would offer HIM a Mustang ride

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I love sharing my pics with you guys and just wish I had the time to get through more of them. For now i'm just working on the ones that stand out to me. If the rain comes back later maybe i'll get a chance to get more done. They'll get posted eventually as i've already got almost 2,500 to sort through

Did any of you guys attend the T-28 talk? One of the speakers I just found out was the guy who did my spin endorsement training - Ed Gunter. I can personally vouch for his flying skills as well as excellent teaching ability!

I'd love to see some shots of any really oddball one-off homebuilts (if those guys come ot OSH anymore - seems it's a sea of RVs.)

Thank-You, Thank-You, Thank-You...

Been having OSH withdrawal all week as I am tied up with a union convention down on bleepin Orlando. Today is my first time to visit WIX to check up on all things OSH.

Did I say Thank-You???

OK, so I'm no photographer but I did meet some really good ones tonight at the WIX gathering. Please excuse my "Ron Popiel's Pocket Digital" but here are a few of my observations from a rainy day. 8)

Aside from finally getting to sleep in some thanks to the rain here's what else happened on Thursday.

My dad retired from Kimberly-Clark last month after over 30 years there and I had an idea for a great gift for him. With some help from my mom & sis he's going flying in the CAF Red Nose Mustang this coming Saturday. In case you were wondering what he looked like being presented with his ride ticket this pretty much sums it up.

Image

Unfortunately the only plane i've been able to go in/on was the Silver Dart which was quite impressive following all the wires and watching the controls move. No way you'd ever get me to fly on it though with how creaky and grindy the wheel was. Yikes!

Image

And now for the pics you've all been waiting for. The 2009 Gathering of WIXers. It was also a joint gathering with AirshowBuzz and I had a great time chatting with so many of you. I always feel bad because I can never remember who I had talked about what with on days prior but it's all good.

Image

Image

After the party I needed to get to Warbirds for my security job and Chris/mustangdriver gave me a lift down there. We decided to give some night shots a go and here are some of the results I eventually got. He also got some pretty nice shots but you'll have to wait until he gets home to see them.
