This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

..is out.
Main features are:
P-51 'Dove of Peace'
This P-51 has recently flown at its new home at Wanaka. There is a look at the aircrafts history and some stunning air to air shots of it over the Alpine scenery.

The German Technical Museum's new annex opened a few weeks back and has allowed some 40 airframes covering the history of German Aviation for the past 200 years to go on display. Nearly all are displayed to the public for the first time and include both WW-1 and WW-2 rarities.
The 'Blue Max' Pfalz
A major feature on Peter Jackson's Pfalz D.111 which made its maiden flight before Easter after 5 years restoration. Includes some great shots of 'Blue Max' movie action.
Gulls, Gulls, Gulls.
Final installment on the lovely Percival Gull, which takes a look at the survivors and a couple of reproductions being built.
Airshows
Features Classic Fighters, Avalon and the Tennessee Warbird Weekend.

Are the subscribers late again like last time? Or has my sub run out?
Looks like it'll be another great issue. Keep up the great work.

No delays this time, so you should have it in a day or so...Cambridge (NZ)being off the beaten track and all

Yes I suppose Cambridge does seem remote and far off to Blenheimers!

It certainly seemed a long way away when I was holed up at RNZAF Woodbourne for 7 months!
Interestingly, we're actually geographically exactly central in the North Island both N-S and E-W, and squarely in the centre of the "beaten track" of State Highway One. So that excuse doesn't wash

hehe
Thanks Dave, I'm looking forward to it very much.

Point of order... is the U.S. President referred to the "head of state". You have more than one you know.

Interesting point Oscar - I had to look that one up. It seems...
State simply means "political community under one Government" according to my OED. It doesn't have to denote more than one politcal faction innthe country, like in Australia or the USA.
NZ's Head of State is Queen Elizabeth II
Othere than these usages, we don't refer to anythings as 'state' as far as I can think of. We have National Parks, rather than State Parks, etc.

It turned up today, as promised. Thanks Classic Wings. Another excellent issue - there's lots of interesting news and articles in this one, cool.

I like to spin it out a bit, there's too much time between issues.

Well chaps, there is an 'unofficial' rumour we are going to try for 6 issues per year from 2006..both Graham and myself hope to be able to clone ourselves by that time
