Flashing Back to 1958-1962

Many of you are familiar with the new magazine Warbirds Digest (www.warbirddigest.com). Recently I was given the opportunity to put together an article for WD using pictures of a friend of mine, Bob Wheelans. Bob flew with Kenting Aviation, an aerial survey company, in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Bob had many more pictures than WD could possibly publish. I have put together a Webshots album which is a selection of the photos not published. Bob took some really cool pictures.

Thanks Mike, really enjoyed seeing the HUP-2 photos..What was the
location of HUP and off-load Globemaster? Large sandflats..almost looks
like Korea..Alaska, Canada?

I just checked my notes. Bob didn't write anything on the slide. It would have been Northern Canada. I did ask him at one time. He pointed out it was north of the tree line and was most likely a DEW line station.

...and off-load Globemaster?

The C-124 pics were taken at Frobisher Bay.

The P2V-5F is a NAS Brunswick Maine Bird its was with VP-10 Red Lancers. I would say the time period must be late 50s since VP-10 got all their -5Fs from VP-26 when they went to -7s.
