the slow draining of the cleveland auto aviation collection

Wed Aug 12, 2009 10:30 pm

due to the tanked out economy, the crawford auto / aviation museum in cleveland ohio is selling off some crown jewels of it's collection, such as a 1950's gull wing mercedes benz for $450.000, & some other auto rarities. some of the 30's / 40's cleveland air races memorabilia rarities are going to be the next, victims to keep the museum's operating expenses going. a sad scenario!! :( :o i posted a reply of the same topic here on the air racing thread, but i thought this needed high profile exposure. mods... i hope you'll give this historic crisis a little latitude & leave this post here, but it's your call.

The P-51K isn't going anywhere, I hope? If I remember right it's one of the few, if not the last that still has an Aeroproducts Prop.

Just FYI...Lewis Shaw's Mustang, out of the Dallas area, uses the Aeroproducts prop. But you're right that there aren't many with 'em.

If you mean FF-704, isn't that the prop used on the P-51H? Don't mean to be nitpicky but I'm just wondering.
