Hi all, hope everyone is having a great summer so far. Recently at the museum, we have been quite busy with planning for the near future. There are a lot of neat things coming up and we want to be ready for when they do

Aircraft -

C-47 Skytrain - Still flying beautifully! In a couple weeks, an instructor will be coming in to get more pilots rated in our D-Day Veteran.

Beechcraft C-45 - We are taking it to a local fly-in at the Ledgedale Airport tomorrow, should be a great time!

Antonov An-2 - We are pleased to announce that she has been up and flying recently and doing great at it. "Natasha" will also be headed to Ledgedale tomorrow.

Aero Commander 100 - New tinted windshield has been installed and the "Baron Hunter" is ready to go, she'll be at Ledgedale as well.

L-17 Navion - Is in the middle of some scheduled maintenance, should return to the skies within the next few weeks.

Top Gun T-6 Rides - Today os the last day for rides, on the days they have been operating, there have been non-stop flights. I assume they are doing pretty good business!

'41 Fighter Fund - I recently just finished making the promotional video, and I premiered it at our monthly meeting on Thursday. I need to do a little editing then I will put it up for viewing and burn copies to sell. I am still planning a "Fighter Fund" day for fundraising sometime in Spring of 2010.

I saw the B-23 fuselage, wings, and engines still sitting on the CAF ramp the other day. What's the plan for getting all of that up to where it's cold? Y'all are probably expecting snow up there soon, right? :-)

Not TOO soon I hope! Its been a weird Summer with being rainy and mild. Maybe the winter will be the same. At least we dont have to worry about scorpions and rattlesnakes! If that kind of thing scares ya.

Seriously though, I hope the B-23 makes it up there soon so the 1941 HAG can start assessing the situation.

The boss (Austin W.) called the guys in Midland and we have reached an agreement to come and get it this fall after their airshow. We simply cannot find the donations we need to truck it up here, which is a shame because the plane itself is paid in full. We are confident that we will get it here before Winter, and that could be as early as October
