Well I receive W.I.! And I've been doing it pretty consistently for the past few years now. I know allot of people here like Warbird Digest but I still think Warbirds International is one of the best long standing magazines around.

And to be honest Tom, haven't had a chance to read your article yet, but Im looking forward to it! :D

P.S. -Whats the deal with those extremely small scale silhouette models? They look almost 1/350 scale or something! That makes me kinda interested. :P

Likewise I have a 'trip report' in the current issue of Southwest Fly Fishing ....lots of writers on this forum writing about different stuff. My last warbird article was YEARS ago.

they are amazing, & could fit into a cracker jack box!! or 1 of those plastic gum ball machine bubble containers, & they have the name of the aircraft under the wing!!! that's a quarter coin for size comparison. who can i.d. the little buggers?? pony for the winner!!

hey tom, got mine sat. read it yesterday. GREAT stuff man. i too, enjoy "father goose" [i own it on VHS] and have always been intrigued by those charts. reminds us that it took the WHOLE US to win the war. all the way from the boy scouts to the factory workers up to the fighting men on the ground. the CAF hanger here at Graham ,TX have scaled ship models on sticks in the factory box, whice is also neat. my hat's off to you guys who collect something this fragil, it's the OLNY way for that aspect of the war effort to be around for the future. also, great tips for preserving this kind of thing. [one more thing] tell us what else you've done in WI or AC so i can go back and catch up with your work. i didn't know we had a big time writer among us.

P.S. you ask us to check it out on aug 12th. i guess you have some inside pull with the magizine because the rest of don't get ours that early. of course, my name is on the outside of the magazine [on the shipping lable] not on the inside under "written by".

AGAIN: GREAT job. keep-em-coming.

"PIONEER" PASSENGER" air classics, october 1998

"THE FLYING ORTNER BROTHERS" 2 part article air classics, may / june 2002

"COLLECTING WARBIRD INSTRUMENTS" warbirds international, december 2005

"TRENCH ART AN ADVENTURE IN COLLECTING" military trader magazine, may 2001 ( krause publications, iola wisconsin)

& now the current one. does 5 published articles make me an ace??

my more than patient wife does the typing, but i'm certain she is burning out!! i guess i'll have to take her on a cruise or something p.d.q.!! i do the research & drafts, she types the final hard copy for publication.

best, tom

I don't get the magazine - but I think I know what you're talking about with the little airplanes. I've got three of them and they are in 1/432 scale - which is supposed to look like it's a mile away at approximately arm's length. They're really fun.

Anyone care to send me a picture of those three?
Mine are a Spitfire, Mosquito, and B-25. I'd like to buy more, but they're actually fairly expensive. I also have some pewter copies (off the orginal molds) and I think in that I have a B-24, B-17, P-38, P-51, Wildcat, and maybe one or two others. There used to be a guy who had the original brass masters for sale - wish I had the money.
