Just got back from a great day at Chino. It was warm alright, but it has been worse in the past. The 5 P-47's flew as advertised, although only briefly as a formation of 5. There were 4 P-40's (Pond's did not show) and 3 Bearcats (Dieckman's has not arrived yet). The Balbo was great as always, and they added an overhead pass (270 degree turn after a pass down the runway) which was great! I don't think there were any new airplanes this year, certainly no big surprises, but this is still one of the most exceptional shows on the planet. It is easy to get to, and I encourage anyone who loves warbirds to make it next year. I am digitally challenged, but my brother took some photos. I will see if he can post them as another post.

Which P-47 is the one marked similarly to "Hun Hunter"? That's the first I've seen the two of them in similar paint.

It's John Schoftner's P-47D. See here for more details: Tennessee Museum of Aviation
