Just saw a U-2 Spy plane orbiting over northern Santa Rosa en route to the Pacific Coast Air Museum airshow this weekend at the Charles M. Schulz airport. After three orbits the pilot headed west towards my place (3 1/2 miles from the airport). He was flying about 1500' or so. I can hear him now making flyby's over the airport.
I'm going to a Beer Revival and BBQ cook off along the Russian River today. Tomorrow I'll head out to the airport. A lot of great Warbirds out there this weekend.

Yup, seen over the PCAM show today, along with lots of other planes. Four Beale AFB T-38's flew over the show in formation afterwards, praticing for tomorrows flyby.

Does attempting to fly count? Went to visit a friend's grave in Sacred Heart cemetary just south of 9/27 at OSH and I'm pretty sure I saw Devil Dog start up over at Weeks' hangar. It taxi'ed out to the end of 27 and ran up but after they cycled the pitch they just drove her back to the ramp. Beth said she was worried about one of the engines during the show. If she's still there I'm guessing that the money I threw into the hollow bomb at the show has been spent several times over. :(

Within the last thirty minutes I have seen two, followed a few minutes later by another three (The same group?) Nanchang CJ-6s. Two of the latter three threw on their smoke generators and that was quite cool. I'm not sure if they were en route to or from an air show or if someone passed away, but it was neat to see. Naturally, there has not been a third pass and I have the digital camera in my hand. I can never seem to catch the interesting fly bys in time.

A pair of L-5s flew over my house in loose formation earlier this afternoon, eastbound.

Taylor? Wazzatchu?

Cheers!

Just curious why you noted the Spitfire as faux but not the Zero? They each probably have an equivalent amount of original parts and both have the wrong engine!

EAA's B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" was spotted by me and other members of my Military Vehicle Club while we were trail riding around Lambertville-Ringoes-Sergeantsville area of NJ. Apparently they were at Trenton-Mercer Airport today.

We had 3 WWII Jeeps, 2 M-151's, a 1956 CJ-5, A 1979 CUCV, and a 5 ton, barreling through trails and gravel roads. We stopped for a break and I heard it, then we all saw AO go right over us. After that we had a few sightings as she conducted her flights.
