This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Yep airnutz, there are two of them in East Texas - one near Texarkana and another in an obscure little town just east of Tyler. I haven't seen the one near Texarkana, but both planes originated from the same source at auction I believe. Different owners though. Mighty big plane that would have to be towed via highway to wherever it may end up.

Texarkana F-111

Thanks Rob, I last visited the Texarkana,Tx F-111 about 5yrs ago. It too
is an empty hulk, but is impressive in it's mass nonetheless. About 5-10
miles west of Texark on I-30, northside of the freeway at a military
surplus store....readily visible from I-30 about 150 feet.

If you happen out that way..there is a Texas ANG T-33 in the Texark,Tx
city park a coupla exits from Stateline blvd. I don't remember that you
can see the T-bird from I-30..but you can see the park-lake from the
highway, which tells you your close. 5 years ago the '33 was in pretty
good shape behind a 8-foot chainlink fenced enclosure. If you got some
photos of the T-33 and posted them here, I'm sure O.P. would "luv you
long time".

ps
The fence "crowds" the '33, so take a ladder if you want some good snaps!
