if i'm not mistaken, a provision was made in the design of the 2 seater that it can be converted & be made into a 1 seater, by adding a panel to cover the 2nd seat area, & then they put on a modified single seat canopy. very clever & versatile approach. regards, tom

These are the three remaining airframes, and the one in the foreground is the single seater. They don't show the replaceable panel, but they do show the fuselage construction.

awesome! I always thought a great airshow act would be to have a Gloster Meteor and an Me-262 doing a mock aerial combat routine with some aerobatics and high speed tail chasing!
