Brian,

Will try to look you up Friday at Reading (if it's not raining) and congratulate you in person.
With a start like that you might get away planning a honeymoon at Oshkosh.

Best of luck,

Bill

That is great! Congrats

So she knows / understands that you’re addicted to warbirds, right? My wife didn't really understand what she was signing on to in regards to airshows, Museums... At first she had the hope it was a phase

Hey Congrats to the both of you Brian.

Turbo NZ, do you all still run around with the real ball and chain on Bach night? I was in CC at a bar and a bach group came in and the groom was sporting his ball and chain.

Good luck to all of you,,,,

Cheers,

Lynn

P-51: Nice setup....when I did the same deed, we had gone flying in a Cessna 172, I made the excuse that I wanted to land at a grass field below and look at a delapidated DC3 sitting there. Good thing she said yes, because I still had to fly us back! Had it been a Corsair sitting there, I probably would have got sidetracked and forgot to ask (hehe).

Ok, so now here's a question: If the P-51 owner said he would give you a choice 1) leave you 2 alone for the proposal with the plane, or 2) take you for a ride in it. Which one would you have done?

(hint- take the ride! ok so that shows my 10+ years of marriage) ;)

Oh Boy!

Now She is gonna want one for herself!

All this talk about women not understanding what we go to these things for I dont understand. I brought Shannon to Sun & Fun for our first vacation and we are going to at least 5 shows this year. You should have seen the goofy grin on her face after what was not only her first small airplane ride, but it was in a 3 ship formation of L-17s doing flyby's with smoke. I keep hearing about Aviation Induced Divorce Syndrome

Congrats, Good luck, Nice Job! (how do I beat that one?, she is gonna read this thread)

Brain, Congrats, to both of you. Sounds like you are a real class act. Looks like your lady likes P-51's. Thats a cool thing! When my wife & I started dating, I made sure she liked anything that goes fast & makes noise. (Airplanes, Racecars, Etc) I wish you both the best.

Man, my lady friend is sick of planes, because I work on mine too much!

Yes, congrats Brian. Be good to her, don't take her to the airport too much!

Hey everyone, thanks so much for the kind words. Yes, i'm a lucky guy, as she does love the warbirds (for now at least!!). She's getting quite good at knowing all of them as well. She beat me to spotting and calling out the Avenger flying at the air show last weekend at millville! What a gal! I've 'roped' her into having the P-51 (or warbirds for that matter) as a significant part of our lives, but I don't even think I needed to. Needless to say, she already knows about the Mustang Roundup in June 2006, which is probably going to be right before our wedding. And yes, we will be in attendance!!

Again, thanks everyone. It's nice to finally have something to share on here!!!
On another note, I really hope to meet some of you all this summer at some of the bigger air shows at Reading, Geneseo, and Michigan. Everyone here is great and it just makes my day to finish out at nite, reading some posts on the good ole' WIX boards! Take care!

Brian

oh and Jaybird, bob doesn't have a two seater, so the choice was easy. but, if he did....the choice would of even been easier.....THE PROPOSAL! she's too good of a catch to go back into the sea!

Hey!
Whaddayamean, I saw his son ride home in the back seat from Nashua!
It was easier to get home than flying the T-6!
He came in to Bedford to pick up somebody in the Mustang!

She's a hottie dude :) If your luck keeps going like it is, you'll might well be owner/operator of those things in the background too! :D

Congratulations to you both!

I think they all like warbirds and airshows before you marry 'em. The summer I got engaged I had my wife flying with Warbird Adventures. Now, two years and one baby later, when I mention Geneseo she says "Have fun. When are you coming home?" :D
