I saw the Mars in the air heading towards Elsinore at about 4:00 p.m. yesterday...and it's been on the news about making drops here in SoCal.

Looks like her sister ship is still up North having some major servicing and repair work done and should be back in the air by next year.

Seems like the two sisters are too invaluable to loose, even in this modern day world. Imagine that. These 2 Goliaths of the firebombing world wont be retired until there are more sufficient aircraft to replace them. Such as a small fleet of CL-415's or A-10 "Firehogs" or 747's.

Some of the old WWII or post WWII aircraft still fight on.
