OK...my 2 cents.
1) James Kightly DID NOT ban MR. Greenwood. That can only be done by Scott Rose.
2) Mr. Greenwood REFUSED to play by the rules after numerous warnings and was finally banned. An action that, I know, Scott does not take lightly.

What he said. Bill was banned and allowed to return-but still couldn't leave his politics at the door ( or at least in the Off Topic section). He had far more chances than anyone else I have seen on here- since WIX , and its earlier incarnations have been around.
Move on FFS

Bill's a champion who has put his money where his mouth is. Being a bit "precious" seems to me to be the hallmark of some pious individuals most of whom have never spent a nickel on our passion apart from writing free comments here and on other forums.

Free speech and lively banter must always prevail.

Pox on political correctness..

Bill's had the dunce cap on long enough and hopefully learned a thing or two in the process. Like stow it when enough's enough. And JDK can ignore other people he doesn't agree with; he doesn't always have to have the last word cause that's what pedantic bores do. Both have been very positive contributors in the past and I have learned from both. How's about we require both to buy any of us the first beer anytime we run into them as pennance...sorta like a challenge coin? And if you disagree with this you owe me a beer. And if you agree, you owe me a beer too. By the way, what were we arguing about??? Geez, I'm thirsty. :partyman: Oh yeah, nevermind...but let Bill come back. Now surely someone owes me a dang beer! :drink3:

This thread seems like an attack on JDK. He was trying to keep this board running smoothly and within Scott's guild lines, I don't feel he over stepped his role one bit. He was not being paid and received nothing but flak for it. Also, for the record, Scott is the sole holder of the Banning power.

Scott started a thread saying that he had had enough of what he considered rule violations and he banned Bill and at least one other person in the process. I think it also has been said that this is a dead issue.

The final rule comes down to Scott, if folks don't like take their toys home and find a new play ground. This threat is about to be locked or removed. I'm looking for input from the other mod's before I do.

It is hard for me to believe that nine months later this is still an issue.

It was not some sort of snap decision because someone did not like Bill. It was an ongoing problem that created a very ugly atmosphere in the forum.

Bill was not the only one banned at the time. He is not the first or last to be banned.

Play by the rules and no one gets hurt. How hard is that?

I also take umbrage to JDK being singled out like this.
There were other mods at the time as well...but that seems not to matter.

This kind of stuff makes me crazy.
