Nice pics Jack, thank you for sharing. I love #3 with someone underneath the Corsair catching some shade. Had to do a double take on the Wildcat, thought it was a winter pic for a second :lol:

Am I correct in assuming that the pilot of CORSAIR #16 wasn't able to advance to round 2 of the weekly spot landing contest?

Great historical photos as usual Jack, thanks.
Torokina was right near the water, Empress Augusta Bay, on Bougainville, while the other two fighter strips, Piva North and South, were a little more inland. Parallel to each other, they were also named Piva Yoke and Piva Uncle IIRC.
