Today a number of pilots and planes participated in some formation practice out of Porter County Airport near Valparaiso, IN. It seems it may become a regular event.
With 5 Mustangs and a Sea Fury, there was an opportunity for everyone to become more familiar with each other in the air.
I will apologize in advance for my photography. I need to practice some more so the results are as good as the opportunities.
I did get some lucky shots blind over the shoulder since there is no room to move in the back seat with a parachute and harness.

Sweet, I saw you and Vlado fly right over head of me when you were flying past Lansing, I was working at the subdivision off the approach end of runway 9 and then you guys came right over head on the way back!

Hoot was flying during the formation flight and Mike Keenum flew from Kankakee and back.

Stephen -- nice shots but they would indeed benefit from a bit of post processing work. Do you have any sort of image processing program, such as Photoshop Elements?

I'm a couple hours away from Valpo and only get up that way once every couple years, so I'm not in the area to just drop by and see what's going on. Is there much warbird activity on the weekends? I'd make the trip if there was.

Any plans to do an airshow again?

Neal,
Thank you for the compliment, I have only basic photo processing ability. Granted more would help, but I need to refine the basic skills for a better base to work from.
I have also received some much appreciated additional input via PM and will see how it all works out over time. While my primary motive is personal, I love to share with others who don't have similar opportunities.

WIXerGreg,
I'm not sure of Valpo events, but my understanding of the "Every other Thursday" practices will involve a variety of locations to involve as many pilots as possible. Better for all!

Steve

I'll be able to give you a better answer to that question tomorrow!
A work in progress
