Ingersoll Rand Donates Tools and Compressor to Support B-17 Rebuild
Ingersoll Rand will donate nearly $15,000 in tools as well as an air compressor to support the B-17 rebuild project currently underway at the Champaign Air Museum in Urbana, OH.

Urbana, OH (Vocus/PRWEB ) September 4, 2009 -- Ingersoll Rand (NYSE: IR) will donate nearly $15,000 in tools as well as an air compressor to support the B-17 rebuild project currently underway at the Champaign Air Museum in Urbana, OH. All of the products will be presented during the museum's board meeting on Sept. 8th at 2 pm. This project involves the building of a B-17, known as the "Flying Fortress," the largest bomber to fly during World War II. The majority of the parts for this project are being hand-made from original prints secured from the Library of Congress. Ingersoll Rand salesperson Frank Eastman discovered the project while stopping for lunch at a nearby café and seeing posters about the B-17 project. A glimpse of the airframe when leaving the café brought Eastman to the hangar where the rebuild is occurring. It was from this chance encounter that a partnership was born.

Ingersoll Rand's donations include riveters, drills, grinders and ratchets as well as a reciprocating air compressor, complete with installation and start up kit. The list of products donated was based on the specific needs the B-17 project team discussed with Eastman. One of the donated tools will include an Ingersoll Rand Special Edition 231 Patriot Gun impact tool. Proceeds from the sale of this limited edition tool are donated to TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors), a program that provides ongoing emotional help, hope and healing to all who grieve the death of a loved one in military service to America
