Unique Formation

Friend of mine took this shot at the Denton, Texas Airfair a few weeks ago before the Seafire headed north. Cavanaugh P-51 in the lead with Lone Star P-47 and Seafire flying wing and CAF P-51 Gunfighter in the slot. Thought it was a great formation!

Hey guys, thats our very own Chuck Gardners uncle, Ronnie Gardner, flying the Cavanaugh P-51. I can just about promise you that, that four ship formation has probably never been seen. Two P-51's, P-47, and a Mk. 47 Seafire....... sigh..... Alan

A couple more years and I'll bet my hat that Chuck will be enjoying himself in a formation like that. Ol' Chuck is the first "dreamer" I've watched go from solo fodder to professional warbird pilot. Rock on Chuck!

Nothing actually wrong with a P-51D, except in W.W.II terms it was a minor player as the D model arrived to late...
Just a minor wind up. Let's see more Spitfire 47 and Aircobra restos to counterballance the 2 milion P-51Ds out there in silver (yawn)

MAAM’s WW2 weekend had a really nice Missing Man Formation. Yankee Lady B-17G, Glamorous Gal (?) P-51D and Fighter Factory’s Spitfire and Porky II P-38J doing the brake.

It's been a long, hard road and there is much more to go. I never thought that I would make it to flying T-6s every day for a living. It's great experience and will lead me to much bigger opportunities in the future.
But right now I am just enjoying where I am at in life for a while.
