So Saturday I was at a photo shoot for a magazine feature on a '33 Ford that we built. I hear this deep rumble, and instantly look up. Nothing. We were by some railroad tracks so I figured it must be a train (it always is a train not a plane) but this time I was wrong! Overhead came the Avenger, T6 and Vlado in his Mustang!

I was giddy as a school girl. Then a few minutes later Aluminum Overcast flew over. Then I knew something was up a the airport, so after the shoot I went over to check it out. Right as I got there, Vlado and then American Beauty scream over the top of me as I'm pulling into the airport.

It was quite a great surprise for me that they were there. I was stoked that I could finally meet Vlado, but when he landed he went on to the hangar, so no luck there. I did meet John with American Beauty. Super nice guy.

Nice shots. We're looking forward to having the Overcast back in Oshkosh this week for her 120 hour inspection. She should be back already, but I don't get to see her until tomorrow...

Thanks for posting.

Django,
A few yards east and you would have seen this after Vlado's landing.

The concession stand,1915 T? was interesting on it's own but I didn't take a pic. Does it fly?

Nice '41! Don't see many prewar Mercs.

I saw that Mustang, but it was to the west of the main office. That must have been after I left.

I was driving this. I got to the shoot early, so I shot a few pics myself.

And the photoshoot was for this. Here are a couple that I took. I'm sure the real photographer got much better shots. My shop partner's fiance was the model.

Hey Chad,

It was good to see you out there and your shots at the airport are great! Can't beat a close shot of aircraft exhaust stacks.

The truck came out Great. That is a KILLER motor. Is any of that grill real Edsel? I know you usually fab your own. Reminds me of Ala Kart a little bit.

...but then there's that Hemi!

I'll see you at the Pile Up for sure.
