Too far for me to go, but maybe someone local could report?

Memorial Day events scheduled at Seattle's Museum of Flight

Seattle's Museum of Flight once again is honoring those who gave their lives in the service of their country. The events are scheduled over the U.S. Memorial Day Weekend. This year, the incredible contributions of American fighter aces from both major theaters of World War II will be highlighted. On Saturday and Sunday, themed groups of aces will participate in moderated panel discussions, and on Monday several aces will participate in a formal Memorial Day ceremony. The event is free with Museum admission. On May 30, admission is free for veterans and current U.S. military personnel.

Continuing a tradition first established in 1999, the Museum is once again pleased to be able to honor those who have given their lives in the service of their country through three days of special programs over Memorial Day Weekend. This year, just days after the sixtieth anniversary of VE Day and three months prior to the sixtieth anniversary of VJ Day, we will highlight the incredible contributions American fighter aces from both major theaters of World War II. On Saturday and Sunday, themed groups of aces will participate in moderated panel discussions, and on Monday—Memorial Day proper—several aces will participate in a formal Memorial Day ceremony. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to hear firsthand the incredible stories of these heroes in freedom’s cause. Memorial Day Weekend programs are generously supported by the City of Tukwila.
