I felt I had to write note about this. I noticed the media coverage here in the UK was less than it has been in recent years. I don't know about the US.

This event still hits me hard, even after all these years, even though I was thousands of miles away.

At the time, it seemed like an outrageous Hollywood movie. This didn't happen in the real world, but it was, right before my eyes on the TV screen.

As a fireman myself , I looked at it unfolding. The thing that struck me right from the start was that the people above the impact site never really stood a chance, and that is what still haunts me to this day. I know that without the hindsight we have today, if I was there as a fireman, I would have went into those buildings. At the time it happened, I never for a moment thought they would collapse.

But they did of course. I flew over New York three days before the disaster. It was the first time I had ever seen it, even if it was from 30,000 feet at night. I picked out the Brooklyn Bridge. It was an amazing sight. I still think of the innocence of that scene, and the ignorance of us all about events that were to unfold.

I hope I have not rambled on too much. or touched too many raw nerves. I just wanted to put across the impact this had across the world, and the fact that it is still remembered so vividly. Perhaps it is because I am a firefighter, or I just have a sense of history. One thing is for sure , I will never ever forget.

Please tell your judicial officials that we also will never forget those who died in the Pan -Am 747 Lockerbie bombing.
We will also remember who let the terrorist go home to a hero's welcome in benghazi.
