More warbird sightings over Ottawa

Thu May 26, 2005 6:15 pm

Hi all,

This evening (May 26) I saw a Tiger Moth and a Harvard flying in formation of Gatineau, heading east.

More additions to the Potter Collection perhaps? I've seen Harvards around a few times, and I think Mr. Potter has one. I don't think I've ever seen a Tiger Moth.

Any thoughts on who they might belong to?

The Harvard must the Potter one, ours is still unfit to fly.

Soon, real soon we'll get her out and cranking again.

I was out in the yard digging out dirt in preparation to put in an interlocking deck when I fast moving prop plane go over. It was Mr. Potter's new Mustang. It put a smile on my face before I went back to digging. :D

When was that Mike?

I wonder if he will repaint it in Canadian colours? It would be nice to seen one in RCAF markings, either wartime camouflage of postwar silver.

I am guessing it would around 2 PM on Saturday. I was outside moving dirt all day and I was not wearing a watch.

I am guessing he will. If his approach is similar to the repaint of SL721 then he will take his time, involve the experts, and make sure it is done correctly!

There is some info in this thread from the MustangsMustangs forum regarding the paint scheme for Mr. Potters P-51.
