Cavanaugh He-111/CASA 2111 Question...

I was just surfing around the CFM's website since Gary posted the link and noticed that they have a CASA 2111 and claim that it is airworthy.

Anyone have any info on its current status?

I was only aware of the former CAF's that was sadly lost a while back.

I saw it right after Christmas and it looked pretty nice to me. But FG1D Pilot is the proper guy to respond as to its airworthiness.

I'm pretty sure it flew into CFM but has not been flown in many years.

Glad to hear that it atleast flew into CFM. It would be nice if they got it back into the air.

There was a plan some time ago, around late 90's, early 00's, in which the CASA was going to be restored to flight at Ezell's in Breckenridge. Why did this plan fall through? Was it a lack of money or was the "restoration" deemed more excessive than originally thought?

Anyone?

That was the plan. To fly it to Ezell's for restoration. After the CAF's crashed, it left the CFM's as the only "flyable" one in the states. It was decided not to attempt to fly it. When we get into new facilities, it the next few years, It is one on the list to restore.
