11 B-1 Bones in the boneyard...hmmmm, did those get pulled out and back into inventory or are those just "parts" at this point?

That place is both depressing and fascinating...

Anyone else notice the "HI MOM" carved into the desert at the corner of S Kolb Rd and E. Escalante Rd. In the A-10 storage area

What an amazing variety of aircraft...

There are also the chopped up B-52s left in place for the Russian satellites to verify.

I can still see a C-121, several C-47's/C-117, a C-119, the hulk of a C-133( :x ), several versions of the B-57, a whole bunch of HU-16's. A few years ago there was still a KC-97 there but I can't seemed to find it on the map. I guess the scap man got her!

Any idea what the plan is for the C-133 and HU-16's? Also looks like the A-7 inventory is about gone and the B-52's seemed to have been worked over good. I was hoping a few of the silver early model B-52s could be saved.... :x

Yes its interesting but also sad! All the sad and mad smileys that are going to be on this thread! :x :( :x  :? :( :x

My guess is late spring or early summer of 2005 judging by where planes are located at Pima.

Here's a photo of the same location from Bing. It makes an interesting comparison with the other image.

That one is a little newer. Around May 2007 I think. It is either a weekend or lunchtime because my car isn't in the lot at Pima. :D

Yeah you can even see the B-36 out back at Pima. Interesting that it's more complete in the "bird's eye" view.

I believe those are A-models (if remembering properly from the tour).

From that view they sure disposed of a lot of B-52s. I wonder how many are still in storage.
