At the Texas Aero Color shop in Brady, TX a couple or three months ago. The plane now belongs to the Friedkin family. It should be in CA receiving some sweet nose art right about now. Their Corsair is also about to leave the same shop.

I take it's being painted as Capt. Robert L. Herman's P-38H 42-66825 "Thoughts of Midnite". Those are some great markings.

it is interesting to see a bunch of the P-38s getting new paint jobs to OD over gray. I wonder when they will start going back to a natural Metal look.
I can't wait to see the nose art, I hope to be able to see it in person someday (again).

Gawd I just hate all these loud, stinky, useless, warbirds coming to South Texas. Whats a man to do to get a good days sleep with all these inconvienances around.

Is that Corsair ser#97302, once owned by Pardue then by Jim Fry? Did Friedkin buy it from Fry?

Why did LSFM let go of it? (And the A-20, and Wildcat, and....?) I never understood any of it, and please know that I am pure and innocent when it comes to actual real warbird business matters. Thank you.

LSFM never "owned" the P-38 & A-20 they were just displayed at LSFM. I think they were owned by the founder of LSFM but I've forgotten his name.
