It looks like Bradley on Route 75 almost where NEAM use to be. They were grounded there by the FAA for almost 2 years after they arrived.
If I'm wrong, I'm sure Phil can fill in the proper location.

So I'm curious...the name "Joe". Anyone know the significance behind it?

I ask because back in 1977, Tallichet's B-24 was used as a 'stand in' for a Privateer in the ABC Movie of the Week "Young Joe, the Forgotten Kennedy"...the story about Joe Kennedy and the 'one-way' bombing mission he was killed on during WWII.

Is the "Joe" on the airplane now a reference to it's use in the movie, or is there something else it is related to?

My dad's plane was leased by Tallmantz Aviation to be one of the camera platforms for the aerial sequences, and I have some cool pics from the filming (which took place at Bayview Airport in Mt. Vernon/Burlington, Washington)....Tallichet's B-24, the B-25 T*te P*ssy (standing in as a PBJ-1), some 2/3 scale FW-190s, a bunch of PT-17's, etc., as well as the Tallmantz Camera B-25 N1042G. That was where I first got to know Frank Tallman, Dave Tallichet, etc.

Kind of partial to 'that' particular B-24, as well as the Tallmantz B-25, as they were the first of each type that I ever got to go up inside as a kid and explore around. Have a pic of me sitting in the pilots seat of each one.

I was on my way to NEAM, when I saw them.
Mostly because I helped restore the B-25 (now in Ca.) and then she was gone like a hooker in the nite, until I saw her at Hartford/Bradley.

Now is it just me or is Tallichets B-17 , aside from the name, one of the most period authentic birds out there ? It seems to me that the chipped and faded paint really makes it look like the real thing would have back in the day. I know that it is a G model done up as an F, but i think that it looks great just the way it is. Except for the name. Did i mention that ? I recall seeing some interior shots of it and it appeared to be more or less unrestored and not prettied up inside. Works for me.

Regarding the Weeks B-24, is this aircraft run up from time to time and all systems cycled to keep things ready to go, or is it in permanent storage mode ? I would think that a monthly run up and taxi would be good for the crowds as well as the aircraft.

I just bought an old B-24 magazine from 1989 with Delectable Doris on the cover.

The Movie Belle has been painted 4 times since then, maybe.
One coat of paint got wrecked after the molds were made, another was needed after the wing was replaced, I think the most recent was 5 years ago or so. I miss "Once Upon a Time"

Wasn't it just painted in the last few months? There was a pic of it in fresh paint in the latest Warbird Digest.

Ok, enough with the pesky Flying Fortress bits... back to the good stuff... the B-24.

I believe that is her. I saw her in CT when she was named "Snow White".
