Searching For Pylon Locations of 1949 Cleveland NAR

I am attempting to locate the exact spots of the 7 pylons used in the 1949 Cleveland National Air Races held at Cleveland Hopkins Airport. I am wondering if anyone out there has put a definite GPS citing on any of them. Pylon #1 is located within the airport boundry and there is photographic evidence of the site. I believe I have found the location of #2 - off Nobottom Road, but 3 through 7 is only guesswork as I am using a Cleveland Press map that is not that accurate.
I belong to SARH and the group has been helpful, but with people who attended the air races in Cleveland approaching their 60's, I believe it is time to locate these sites and record them before another generation slips by. Maybe someone has already done this. I would very much like to hear from you.

Might check with these folks, apparently they do historic tours (for $$$) and they list visiting the 49 Pylon sites as part of the tour.

Holedigger - I have already taken the tour. Dominic Bonacci - the tour guide and owner- and 2 friends and I did a followup to furthur investigate some other possible pylon sites - recording them with GPS - but we really are not sure if what we found are infact a former pylon location.

By the way, the tour was Excellent. Anyone interested in National Airracing history will surely enjoy

leon, i'm shocked that bill meixner of all, let alone any other members of the airacing group in cleveland couldn't pinpoint the old pylon positions for you!! have you tried the crawford museum's archives??
