Wow, we've started 3 different subjects in one thread. Oh well. Anyway, I've got photos of dataplates off of a Harvard. Out of curiosity, why?

That is the $64000 Panamenian pesos question! The best info that I have is that there were lots of Bombers/ Misc aircrafts returned fom Europe via Panama.c. after WW II.

Some of them could not be flown back to the US due to maint/ cost reasons. They were not reallly scrapyards like the ones in the U.S but large pit holes/burial sites near the US bases. Their exact location is what it remains a mistery. Like the aircraft burial sites in the Phillipines/Guam. You have to have old folks telling you what they remember. -)

Since the topic has bounced around from BT-13's, Corsairs and other things, I thought I'd post these pictures. They'll only be here a short time though. As soon as Tulio sends me his mailing address I'm gonna give all the originals to him. So, for all practical purposes, he should get credit for the pictures.

I took these at Teguchigalpa around 97-98 or so. Sorry for the quality but it was getting dark and I was worried about getting snake bit, shot by the guards or getting left behind by my pilot. He never did understand my fascination with digging around every old airplane I found.

The Corsair FAH-617 was found among the stuff shown in the first picture. I saw it years ago, but never was able to get a good picture of it.

I think the yellow BT-13 in the previous disputed picture is the same one in the next two pictures.

The last picture was another BT-13 from what I remember. But, it may have been a T-6.

I guess I was lucky, because when I shot my photos on the same location, the weather was dry, and so were all the grass and brushes; now that you mention it . . . the thought of snakes never crossed my mind . . .
