Great Shots. Thanks.
When did they re-paint the P-47 "Big Chief"?

I think its been in that scheme now for almost a year. They haven't really publicized it though.
BTW: What aircraft are actually still flown from this museum?

Very nice set of photos. They certainly keep their planes looking good.

Anyone have an update on the "power struggle" between the estate of Pond and the Museum in regards to acquiring more of Pond's aircraft?

That's easy to do when they are hangared and never flown! :(

But they are at least on display and able to be seen. Something to be thankful for.

They don't fly the P-63 anymore? I saw some recent youtube video of it!

I thought Jim Dale flew it to Chino not to long ago.

That SuperCat looks good, ACCURATE COLORS (wish the rest of Mr. Pond's aircraft were)! Love the Bearcat too, don't think I ever saw that one. Thanks for posting.

There is an agreement that Bob Pond set up before he died to allow the museum to purchase the aircraft. As soon as they put together the necessary funds they obtain title and can fly the aircraft. The P-63 and the PBY are airworthy and belong to the museum, as is the C-47 they obtained recently.

I agree, I'm not jet1 - I'm on your side! I guess my point is that it's sad that aircraft that formerly flew are no longer flown. If they had never flown in the first place I wouldn't have cared.

I'm pretty sure it's still flown, as it is usually a participant at the annual POF airshow at Chino every year. Unless there was a recent decision to ground it, AFAIK it's still active.

It's all good man. I know what you mean. I just hate when they are locked away and no one can ever see them.
