Hello all. New member to the board. Long time Warbird fan...CAF fan... I have a quick question regarding the Doc B-29 project. Last I heard, the folks working on him had to stop work due to lack of funds. Have there been any updates? What are the odds that someone like the Commerative Air Force, Collings Foundation, or Cavanaugh Flight Museum picking this one up. I heard Fifi is going to be based up here at Cavanaugh, would be really cool to see 2 B-29s sahre the same tarmac....one can dream at least....

The last update on their website was in March when they put the airplane into storage.

I made contact with the Doc folks about future volunteering at about the time the airplane was put into storage. I'm not certain, but I think the outer wing panels were being finished at a remote site that was accessible. The balance of the airplane is safe in a secure hangar. As to the plan going forward for restoration, we'll all have to be patient. The hiatus has to be harder for the people who have gotten it this far than for those of us watching!

As to any "horse trading", Gary mentioned something about offering them help with a similar engine package to what he had planned. At that time the program was to keep Doc 100% stock with the original engines.

I wish them well and hope the restoration can continue one day soon.
Scott
