It could be one of Tallichet's, or it could be one of Lake Michigan's..

It appears to be the former PLANES OF FAME project that was purchased by the PAUL ALLEN collection. The fact that JEFF THOMAS is selling it also points to Mr ALLEN as he has been the purchasing agent for most of the HERITAGE COLLECTION transactions.

Also the right wing in the pictures is the mock-up wing made at the museum. Notice no lightening holes in the inboard rib.

Vanguard is correct.
Errickson's FM-2 is restored and has flown. It is the x-Don Novas machine from Blackfoot, ID. This is the former Planes of Fame FM-2
with the made-up wing. The sale may be because of the forced closure of the Arlington Air station Museum.
Rob-it works as I got photos, history, description ect.

I can't seem to find the URL or find this on Barnstormers. Help!

Brandon,

for reasons unknown, the ad was withdrawn. It was published on the 20th of this month.

I have searched the ads database, and I did not come up with either the company LEGACY AIRCRAFT SALES, or with the name Jeff Thomas, nor any recent postings on an FM-2.

Thanks guys. I thought my internet searching skills had let me down again!

Maybe the post on Barnstormers was bogus?

Wed Jun 22, 2005 11:04 am

There is a telephone number there; I am not familiar with the name of the poster, but then again, I don't keep track of warbirds, their owners or / and brokers, and once in a while, there is a name I recognize, but not in this case.

Why publish a bogus ad? To spite someone?

If the airplane was sold so fast, they could have published the ad with a "sold" notice.
