Here's a link to a blog; looks like the Albatross, the C-119, the H-21 and Voodoo are all that's left:

I'm sorry to hear the museum is closing. Does anyone know any details about the Mercury capsule display? Is it a mockup? I'm curious if it has any history from here in St. Louis? I know McDonnell built some mockup and training capsules in addition to the actual orbital capsules at the plant here in town. I assume the Voodo was built in Canada? I'd sure love to have a Voodo and a Phantom for display at our museum.

All F-101s were built in the US. The one in the Pate museum was one of the original batch of F-101s sold to Canada. After several years of service they were replaced with USAF F-101Bs that had newer upgrades. If I remember correctly some of the original Canadia F-101s (about 24) were converted to RF-101Fs. beinng the only two seat recce VooDoos.

As far as the Mercury, can't help except that I believe it was some sort of engineering mock-up.

Interesting. I've tried to bring up maps on Google and Bing using addy's picked up off Google and Bing searches on Pate Museum, etc., etc. Results are all over the place, and switching to satellite view shows vacant lots. Wonder if somebody could/would pin this place down for me so I see where it's at? I might wanna run up there right quick before they shut 'er down. Thanks.

Here is the shot from BING, not great but it is what it is. Slightly sharper image than Google maps.

Thanks CB. What is the straight wing twin engine jet that Canada operated into the early 80s? I think I'm mixing the Voodoo up with that one but I don't recall the designation. CF-100 or CF-101? Canuck? Help me out here I've got brain fade.

That is the CF-100 you are thinking of. A pretty successful design.

Here is a shot of the CF-101B at the Pate museum.

I made a visit to the Pate Museum a couple of years ago. They had a lot of cool items. Place was in need of up keep and cleaning at that time.

My photos from the visit:

So...who's the One-Oh-Wonder belong to? Was it just on loan to Canada, and now property of the NMUSAF, or was it bought from Canada and is property of the Pate museum?

I think it would be nice to see the Tyler HAMM get the Voodoo (they already have the F-105, F-4 and T-33 that were at Pate) but last year when I asked the guys there about it they didn't seem very enthusiastic about it...

You still out there somewhere John Mustard? What do you think?

I'll bet Tex-Fan will remember this: the boxcar was flown in to Pate and landed in a pasture/field next to the museum. I think it was flown in by an AF crew. I remember seeing this landing on the local news at the time (many, many years ago), and if memory serves, it took alot of braking to get it stopped in the field. Going there was always enjoyable, but weird at the same time because it always seemed too quiet. Of course, usually being the only one there may have had a little to do with that. Still, its been there so long that it won't seem right that its gone.

Usually being the only one there.........................kind of reminds you of Midland.
