P-38's at WestPac Restorations

Mon Dec 21, 2009 11:19 am

In the latest issue of Warbird Digest it mentions 2 P-38 restorations taking place at WestPac Restorations in Colorado Springs. The first is FHC's "Scatterbrain Kid II" and the other a combat veteran recovered from New Guinea. Who owns this one and when was it recovered?

I second that! From the pic's on the site it's an early model.

I seen both of them about two months ago - I believe its an "E" model - pretty crunched up but these guys are restoration gods from what I seen so far.

Scatterbrain is going back together slow - the fuselage center section is in a giant jig they made - you could still see that funky camouflage on some of the structure.
