Just wanted to show some of the pics made by Bill Crump during the Memorial Day unveiling of the F4U-1C at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. The event went well despite weather. Archie and Mary were delighted and couldn't believe we honored him this way. The first picture is Bill Crump setting up with Archie in the cockpit. This is the only shot that shows the 20mm barrels in the wing.

Hope to have the engine soon and plan to take it to Oshkosh if we can get it finished.

Is that "real" tape on the a/c? Just like it "was" and not paint to look like tape?

you got it. Real tape. It may be shiney, but I tried to get things accurate. And yes this will be my plane of choice for airshows.

Dave Morgan? Yes. Charles Osbourne, David Jeansonne, then Dave Morgan. The picture by my name is me flying it when it belonged to David Jeansonne on the day I flew over Tom Landry's Funeral.

Thanks for your comments and unknowingly correcting me. I had David Jeansonne on my mind when I wrote the other note. It was Paul Morgan that owned it before we got it.

That is great. Archie is the one who signed my formation qualification for the CAF in 1987. If you bring the plane to EAA I hope he comes also.
