When this float came on while a family member of mine was watching the coverage, I was called to check it out, and the reaction from the crowd was actually quite wonderful, coming to their feet with applause as the float went by. I believe I tuned into HGTV's coverage, but whatever it was the commentators pretty-much did an okay job of describing the reason behind the float, talking a bit about the missions of the Tuskegee Airmen in WWII, pointing out that the red tails signified the group, and also getting the name right for the Mustangs.
Speaking of warbirds in the parade, there was actually a very nice looking Navy Stearman as well, which was attached to a preceding float.
