I am surprised I have not seen something posted about this, or did I miss it?

I can only hope that those who saw this float knew what they were witnessing.

What's sad is that probably 95% of the people who saw that float didn't have a clue who they were or what they were about. What's even worse, is that probably 99.5% of all people under the age of 30 probably didn't either!

Sometimes, it makes me really sad at how little history is being taught in our schools.

When this float came on while a family member of mine was watching the coverage, I was called to check it out, and the reaction from the crowd was actually quite wonderful, coming to their feet with applause as the float went by. I believe I tuned into HGTV's coverage, but whatever it was the commentators pretty-much did an okay job of describing the reason behind the float, talking a bit about the missions of the Tuskegee Airmen in WWII, pointing out that the red tails signified the group, and also getting the name right for the Mustangs.

Speaking of warbirds in the parade, there was actually a very nice looking Navy Stearman as well, which was attached to a preceding float.
