There is going to be a show called "Boneyard". It doesn't appear the whole show will be about military hardware that has reached the end of its useful life but it might be worth a look see.

I just watched the recording. That was a great show, very interesting and informative! Anybody else see it?

I saw the program. I thought it was well done, but, MAN, it is tough watching any aircraft meet it's fate in the ways they showed there.

That is true.....I hate to see it even on stuff I'm not that into like C-141's...there's something about it that's sad and wrong!

I agree with you. When they showed the video of the guillotine chopping off the wing of that B-52, it almost looked as though the plane jumped from the "pain" that was being inflicted. I don't know about you folks, but my work and "play time" around all of the aircraft I have been around, these things do have personalities. Each one is unique. Now...I know...no one really thinks of machines as things with real personalities and feelings...that would be giving them "life". But they do have sort of a life. If you can call it that. Of all of the 747's and 727's I have ever worked on, I always knew where to look for the problems on each one. Because each one was unique...even though they may have rolled off the production line near one another.

This all may sound silly to many of you, but I do believe it to be true. And if I may...not knowing many of you all that well. May I say this. Nothing that is created by the hand of man lasts forever. But with the inspiration of God, man has acheived many great things. And through that we showcase Him. Aircraft and the idea of man flying are two of those things. That is why I believe these "machines" have personalities of their own. Because we gave them that with God's help.

I hope that didn't sound too silly for you who have taken the time to read it. But it is my take on things....such as watching this program. It was a very good one and one I hope to get on DVD for my library.

Though not a Warbird I would still like to save one of those Starships. They a one of the prettiest civvie aircraft ever made. IMHO of course

I caught the show too... well done. Scott... I liked the Starship part too... good to see that a newer bit of history will be kept flying. Someday I think we will see more aircraft pulled from the boneyard for flying collections.
