Photo Contest-Who is this Hero????????

Fri Jun 24, 2005 5:11 pm

Once again first correct answer gets nothing. Your hints: he's a pilot (duh?), he has a direct connection with the finest warbird restorations ever done, he holds the Silver Star and the DFC and many Zeros never survived their meetings with him.

sorry, but that is not the John Lane that posts on here. The picture is of his father, John " Shady" Lane. His son is not quiet old enough to have served in WWII, he was however in Vietnam

Matt,
Come on now. We know John isn't in his mid 80s. But has I said, his dad is a direct connection to son John. I met Shady a few times at some AFAA events and chatted on the phone with him a couple times. A neat neat fellow.

Correct name should be:

CaptJohnLanethumb.

Must be one of the Lanethumbs from West-Eastern Cambrian.

Looks like Paul Newman, though.

Hi Tulio,
Thumb just means it's a small file.
I save most of my stuff has 600 dpi Tiffs which makes for very large files suitable for making great prints.

I have been working with computers since 1978, and I know what the extension and file name meant. I was just attempting a play on the original "right click" posting.
