i've had numerous original 100 lb ww 2 era practice bombs, they bring a good buck now! i remember when they went for a song!! most that i had owned including the 1 i still retain have moderate rust. i also used to have 3 u.s. navy mk. 88 1000 pound practice bombs. 44 inches in diameter & 10 feet long, & stored in girdered crates. my neighbors thought i'd flipped my lid when they were delivered!! my wife made me get rid of them as they took up lots of room in the garage. sold them to an alabama sod farmer. he sent a flat bed semi truck for them & his driver was pulled over by the cops 4 times going back. it took 4 people to load them on the truck as they weighed in excess of 300 pounds empty with the crating. i could kick myself in the butt for not keeping 1 of them! they were a hoot to own & show!! i have some small practice bombs such as a cast iron mark 28 model 1 which held a shotgun shell sized powder charge in the core for scoring purposes. 1 unique practice bomb i have is a nam era dummy cluster bomb. i have a german incendiary bomb made of magnesium, & a japanese aerial anti- personel bomb. they were dropped frequently from ground attack planes such as the ijaaf's sonia.

My neighbor has what he thought was a P51 drop tank for sale for $1000... then he found out it was for a P40 & almost doubled the price

We are still looking for a 75 gallon drop tank, supposedly like was used on the P-51, for the P-39. We'd like one that is usable, or a non-usable one that is intact enough to use as a pattern. Anyone like to donate one, or make us a good deal on one?

Had a chance to hang out at his booth and buy a couple of well worn outfits and some other small stuff. really nice guy, and great looking replicas. Would be nice to see a restored bomb trailer loaded.

The passenger "bus" at Duxford is built from a bunch of old bomb trailers. I think there's 3 or maybe 4 of them, plus the tractor.

It was, but it's been replaced with a modern build and Ford Transit mover some years ago. Took all the fun out of it!

I hope they did! I mean the Commonwealth overall has a very good trackrecord of preserving somthing down to the last detail.
