Saw the really nice bus for the team at George's in Waco today, getting some chicken-fried and big-O's I presume. Was wondering if they are doing a show in the area, can't find anything on the web as far as a schedule....?

You could check in over at ASB.tv. I'd venture a guess that if they head west, they're perhaps going to the Friedkin place for practice.

go to
www.asb.tv and then at the very bottom of the page look for "The horsemen" link - it is pretty small but it has the most recent info on the team.

For the life of me I can not figure out why EAA does not have them at Oshkosh. They did a two ship a number of years ago, but nothing since.

Oshkosh has a very narrow aerobatic box. The east side borders are large residential area.
This precludes many other air displays.

Borrow the A-26 trio at Van Nuys and terrorize the FAA reps. at the show...

Would probably make a lot of spectators mouths hang open too!

Actually I believe the theme for the annual air show in May is "Salute to the Greatest Generation." It looks like they have a Korean theme for their smaller monthly event in June.
I would think maybe the Horsemen F8F Bearcat routine may be brought back next year at least for some shows to mark the Centennial of Naval Aviation (at least I hope so).

We're doing Key West with me leading in the -4 Corsair and the Bearcats on the wing. Not sure after that, but we try to do the Navy planes where appropriate and the Mustangs where appropriate. It's also a function of which planes aren't broken or grounded (Rich).

Thanks for the information, Jim. That's good to know that we may expect to see the Bearcats, etc. on occasion as a variation to the Mustangs. The Corsair with 2 Bearcats sounds like an intriguing demo formation.
