He also still plays the Hofner almost exclusively on stage simply becuase it is light.

He was playing it this past July when I saw him at Citi Field 2x...and also during the 7 other times I saw him over the last 20 years...

Awesome.

I never cared for the "Rick" Strat all the way for me! I believe that Eddie Rickenbacker owned Allison before GM?

I hope to get a Strat eventually. I wouldn't mind an Allison, either.

All this talk of Rickenbackers and not one mention of Johnny Marr?! FOR SHAME.

I've got a 1966 JetGlo 450/12, and it's an absolutely superb guitar... it's a 12 string with a narrower neck than a Stratocaster 6 string, and it's the only 12 string I've ever played that truly feels comfortable to me. I know narrow necks aren't for everyone, but having been a classical violinist many moons ago, it comes naturally to me, LOL. :)

I know very little about his work, other than "How Soon Is Now" and how he recorded the tremolo effect. That's a nice looking 12-string, interesting how they achieved such a tight string spacing on a 12 neck. A Schecter 12 isn't too bad. Than there's the ol' Vox Mando guitar. I had no clue you were a violinist!!

I feel compelled to point out another Rick player; Marty Willson-Piper of the great Aussie band The Church. They surfaced briefly in the USA top 40 with "Under The Milky Way" in 1988. Other than that I doubt anyone has heard of them.

Now back to airplanes... :D

Also, don't forget Jim McGwinn of the Byrds with his Jingle-Jangle 12 string sound.
